The Box The ad in the paper said "old farmhouse in idyllic, private setting." What more than the "private" part of the description could appeal to an ambitious, aspiring writer? It seemed too good to be true...
![]() Vindicating the Kaiser Sonny said that old man Kaiser was so mean that they run him off from the bowling alley for bowling overhand. Not only that, but he ambushed dirt daubers with a 12-guage shotgun because they "carried off his soil."
Mushawie Off the Hill When Mushawie took up residence in the delapidated old chicken coop near the edge of the Delmere property, old man Delmere had only one question. He pointed at the Purple Heart hanging on a nail and asked, "Is this your's?"
On the Wings of Tomorrow 2002 was a busy year for Lou Harper, entering (and winning) poetry contests, working with the Southern Oklahoma Writer's Guild as their president, and toiling, toiling as our poetry editor. She's penned several new poems, and we asked for a sampling. Welcome to 2003's first Kudzu Monthly Poetry Feature. Enjoy. You're in good hands. About the Cover Artist Cover art for this issue was provided by Bonnie Everett-Hawkes. Please see her feature article, The Life Art of Bonnie Everett-Hawkes in the September, 2002, Kudzu Monthly. |
![]() Living with Dying In this first issue of the new year, we'd like to note that fiction/health editor Lisa Binkley has been aboard since issue no. 3 and has faithfully provided us with interesting, timely health articles for this column - the only feature that has been a constant here. This month's article is no exception. If you've wondered if you should have a living will, designate a power of attorney, or prepare an advance directive, Lisa has the answers you need. Be informed.

![]() The Chrysler Atlantic Does this car look like a fantasy? It was. It started as a sketch on a napkin. That sketch was by Chrysler president Bob Lutz, and Chrysler's chief designer Tom Gale was who he showed it to.
